2022 NFL Week 5 Fine Blotter Part Two

And here's the rest of Week 5's love letters from New York, courtesy of the weekly NFL.com Saturday Around the League post and Ian Rapoport:
  • Green Bay Packers:  Jon Runyan (Jr.):  $5,215 for unnecessary roughness.  No penalty was called on the play, apparently a leg whip.
  • An interesting sidelight:  Runyan's father (Jon Sr., longtime player with Tennessee and Philadelphia) actually handles the adjudication of fineable acts in the National Football League.  So Jon Runyan, for a foul not flagged on the field, was fined by HIS FATHER!
  • Grady Jarrett was NOT FINED for Roughing The Passer -- the NFL figuring rigging the game for Tom Brady was enough, in this case.
  • Eight players received Roughing The Passer calls last week.  NONE WERE FINED.
  • The NFL is averaging 5 of those calls a week now.  That's 3 down from last year!
  • Carolina Panthers:  Jaycee Horn:  $10,609 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.  This represents the fifth consecutive game a Carolina Panther has been fined.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers:  Myles Jack:  $10,609 for Unnecessary Roughness.  (those two from CBS, which also noted the quirk about the Packer fine)
I have also updated the entire 2022 fine list in previous Fine Blotter posts (I haven't started a spreadsheet yet, as I have done in past years) through at least these reports, matching up with sources like Spotrac in that matter.
