- Green Bay Packers: Jon Runyan (Jr.): $5,215 for unnecessary roughness. No penalty was called on the play, apparently a leg whip.
- An interesting sidelight: Runyan's father (Jon Sr., longtime player with Tennessee and Philadelphia) actually handles the adjudication of fineable acts in the National Football League. So Jon Runyan, for a foul not flagged on the field, was fined by HIS FATHER!
- Grady Jarrett was NOT FINED for Roughing The Passer -- the NFL figuring rigging the game for Tom Brady was enough, in this case.
- Eight players received Roughing The Passer calls last week. NONE WERE FINED.
- The NFL is averaging 5 of those calls a week now. That's 3 down from last year!
- Carolina Panthers: Jaycee Horn: $10,609 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct. This represents the fifth consecutive game a Carolina Panther has been fined.
- Pittsburgh Steelers: Myles Jack: $10,609 for Unnecessary Roughness. (those two from CBS, which also noted the quirk about the Packer fine)
I have also updated the entire 2022 fine list in previous Fine Blotter posts (I haven't started a spreadsheet yet, as I have done in past years) through at least these reports, matching up with sources like Spotrac in that matter.
