Politicals:
1) Philadelphia
On their bye this week, gets to host Pittsburgh next week, goes to Houston, hosts Washington, then to Indy, home to the Packers, then Tennessee... 12-0 IS looking more and more likely, isn't it, by the time they face the Giants
2) Dallas
3) NY Giants
With only the existential reality of the Cowboys' TV ratings to separate them. It's clear both teams are getting pushed MAJORLY this year.
4) Minnesota
They also had their bye this week, and the same thing I said before applies now: It's not that we don't believe 5-1, but you have to be pretty deep past Cincinnati-level in the pockets of the NFL as a backup plan.
5) Seattle
Don't look now, they're 4-3! And they lead the NFC West!!
Kayfabe:
NFC East: Philly is 6-0, Giants are 6-1, Dallas is 5-2.
NFC North: Minnesota is 5-1, next team in the division is 3-4.
NFC South: Tampa with the tiebreaker over Atlanta... at 3-4. Carolina and New Orleans are 2-5.
NFC West: Seattle is 4-3, Rams are 3-3, Arizona and San Fran are 3-4.
Wildcards: Giants, Dallas, LA Rams, in that order, no tiebreakers.
Seeds:
- PHI (6-0)
- MIN (5-1)
- SEA (4-3)
- TB (3-4)
- NYG (6-1)
- DAL (5-2)
- LAR (3-3)
At 3-4: Washington, Green Bay, Arizona, San Francisco (and Chicago, if they beat New England Monday night).
DUD OF THE WEEK:
Nominees:
Detroit Lions: Yep, they've quit. They gave it pretty much all they had for about a season and a half, and I think it just ran out the last couple weeks.
Detroit Lions: Yep, they've quit. They gave it pretty much all they had for about a season and a half, and I think it just ran out the last couple weeks.
Runner-up:
That vaunted 49er defense: 3-2 with Atlanta coming up, then you give up 28 to Atlanta and 44 to Kansas City after you gave up 61 points in the first five games. Yeah...
JOINT WINNERS:
THE GREEN BAY PACKERS, AARON RODGERS, THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS, AND TOM BRADY.
At least the first two of you are done beyond done. The other two are a rig-job and a fight from being 1-6.
Rodgers, get out. Brady, retire.
