Oh, it hit the fan all right -- but it looks like the other way!!

I might do a "regular daily" of all the sports from the last couple days, but this is one of the more satisfying "I was wrong"s I get to post.

As my anonymous friend said last night, something got moved in the concept of human rights.  And if the Republicans don't like it, then maybe their faith will finally be shaken enough to actually do what they talk about doing, on a rank-and-file basis.
  • I don't know if there are any races close enough to change it, but, as of 11 PM last night Pacific Time, NBC literally had it's projection for the House (plus or minus a lot of seats, so it's still in play) that the Republicans would gain the majority, but would literally need every vote to hold it:  218-217.
  • The Senate is down to Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia.  The Democrats need two of those three to keep control, and all three to gain the majority.
  • Hershel Walker appears to be cursing our political landscape into December, if not January -- and, odds are, again it will determine control of the Senate, just like two years ago.  Yahoo has now officially called the runoff in Georgia, with the Democrat against Walker holding about a 17,000 vote lead, but neither getting the majority required to avoid the runoff.
  • Nevada, the Democratic incumbent is down a substantial number (about 23,000), but there are still 20% of the votes to count, but she'd need about 56% of those to win -- a number many believe she will get.
  • And in Arizona, Mark Kelly, the Democratic incumbent, is up about 90,000 -- but the makeup of the remaining to count seems to indicate the margin will be far smaller than that!
  • Dr. Oz lost, and it got called last night.  John Fetterman won by at least 150,000 votes, and it's the one flip the Senate got last night.
  • It appears as if Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis could be major players (or even a ticket!) in the Republican situation in two years.  They were two of the only big winners last night on that side.
  • One of the biggest shocks from last night is that Lauren Boebert, the gun-toting bitch from Colorado, may have her seat flipped out.  With somewhere in the area of about 32,000 votes to count, her Democratic challenger holds a 3,500 vote lead.
  • Hold the phone...  The last 25,600 counted votes have wiped out Boebert's deficit.  Adam Frisch, as of 6:22 MST in Colorado, leads by 73 votes.  According to last report, about 7,200 votes left to count. 155,579 for Frisch, 155,506 for Boebert.
  • Kyle Clark of 9NEWS in Denver, given what ballots remain, is stating Frisch has a very good chance to win.
  • Another is the gubernatorial race in Arizona, where Kari Lake was allowed up all fours to campaign for the fascists.  Still about 30% of the vote to count in Arizona, lead is about 12,000 for her Democratic opponent.
  • No sports-gambling in California anytime soon, and I think two messages got sent:  Don't try to negotiate it in any form, and California's bandwagon (at best) attitude toward professional and college sports came out in the biggest "Who cares about corporate sports?" attitude the country has.  A constitutional amendment allowing Indian tribes and racetracks to have on-site sportsbooks went down in flames by a 70-30 margin.  Had they actually taken the sports-betting out and left in-person craps and roulette in, I think it would've won.
  • But that pales in comparison to the online/mobile allowance amendment, which went down in flames by a factor of better than 5-1.  They don't mind if the money goes out of state -- they just would rather Nevada have it.
  • To what is no surprise to me, the initiative in San Bernadino County, CA, to begin the process of either forcing more representation of the White Right in Sacramento or secede to form "Empire" is winning by three points.  Out of 134,000 votes currently counted, Yes on Proposition EE, to give the county the power to explore all means of proper representation, including secession, is winning by about 5,000 votes -- over 80% of that lead was Election Day (predominantly Republican) voting.
  • However, about a third of the votes are left still to count, as of the update I'm getting the numbers off of about 3:40 PM PST.
  • Republican Turd of ACT For America Brigitte Gabriel has called for raising the voting age to 21.  Oh gee, I wonder the fuck why...
