Reports Tuesday evening by ESPN's Chris Mortenson confirm we have the "Cheaters" half of Thugs vs. Cheaters.
The Cheatriots, according to Mortenson (through Deadspin, as stated by my friend who helps me with all the BS), supplied 11 of 12 of their balls which were underinflated.
And not by some small miniscule amount either. According to the article, NFL game balls must be inflated to approximately 12.5 to 13.5 pounds per square inch. The balls New England used were, apparently, some 2 pounds per square inch light.
This would mean that the balls would be somewhere around 15% under-inflated.
The officials, according to the report, were supposed to inspect the balls about 2 hours and 15 minutes before the kickoff, and then the balls are to be secured afterward.
Yeah...
