Upon Further Review: Week Three, Part Two: I thought we were going to get away from a real messy one this week otherwise...

Nope.  They either had to rig one for Lamar or against the Rams last night...

The Rams, on the final drive, were called for five penalties in the final two minutes.  That is the most penalties (tied) any one team has been called for in the final two minutes of a game.

This penalty, however, is the one that has the fans up in arms.  It was a defensive pass interference penalty that negated a game-winning Rams interception and set up Baltimore's game-winning touchdown.

I'm of two thoughts.

It is clear that the receiver is trying to grab the interceptor as he's about to intercept the ball.

There's one major problem with the play if you want to believe the call should've gone the other way.

There's a push-off here first.  And the only way that the interception can be made is that push-off.

DPI is quite callable here.  So this is probably one of the worst cases of rigging, if it is -- you not only can see why the Rams fans are complaining, but you can also see why the call was made.
