- And if I think NASCAR has a problem: Nine of the 20 drivers in today's Italian Grand Prix failed one or more inspections to get grid penalties.
- This, two weeks after there were so many penalties that exactly NOBODY started where they earned in qualifying. This week, only the polesitter got that honor.
- It's so bad that the tenth qualifying place was actually a DNQ!
- Max Verstappen won the race.
- Today is actually the fourth time since that awful day that the NFL has Week 1 Sunday on PNAC Day.
- The Scott Frost experiment is over at Nebraska. Fired today after a loss to Sun Belt FBS-II Georgia Southern, a game in which the Cornhuskers were three-touchdown favorites.
- Carlos Alcaraz won the men's singles title at the US Open in four sets over Carlos Ruiz -- and, with it, the Spaniard, at 19 years old, becomes the youngest-ever World #1.
- After two close calls, including this year's Daytona 500, Bubba Wallace finally broke through today and won at Kansas, his second win in two years. Wallace, however, did not make the NASCAR playoffs, for which this was the second race, so that frees up another spot for next week's qualifications.
- He is the 18th different driver to win this year in 28 races.
- Albert Pujols' unbelievable streak continues, as he solidifies the third-place legitimate spot on the home run list, passing A-Fraud-Roid with his 697th home run, and he has only 3 to go for 700 and about 3 1/2 weeks to get it.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
