2021 NFC Week 15 Kayfabe Standings

Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice...

NFC:

East:  Dallas (10-4), by three over the Eagles.  One more win by Dallas or one more loss by the Eagles wins the division, but Dallas has clinched nothing as of tonight.

North:  We have our first division winner and playoff team.  The Green Bay Packers (11-3) have won the NFC North.  Minnesota is 7-7.

South:  Tampa Bay (10-4), by three over New Orleans.  Same drill as the NFC East.

West:  Arizona (10-4) has the tiebreaker over the Rams with the same record.  They split in the regular season, Arizona is 4-1 vs. the NFC West, the Rams 3-2.  At minimum, a win over Seattle in Week 18 and a Rams loss either week wins the NFC West for Arizona.

The ONLY clinched playoff spot in the entire NFL is the Packers, and they have the 1 seed.

Tiebreakers:

DAL, TB, ARI for the 2-3-4.

No HTH sweep or swept.  Dallas must beat Arizona in Week 17, or they lose any tiebreaker to the other two teams, which is important, given at least DAL and TB are basically locks for the divisions.

Conference:  DAL is 8-1, TB and ARI are 6-4.  Dallas is the 2 seed right now.  That conference record looks peachy!  (GB is 8-2, for the record.  GB is favored to win their three remaining games, but, if they don't, that loss vs. Minnesota could be COSTLY.)

TB and ARI won't play, and there aren't enough common games.  Fire up the computer!!

Strength of victory:  TB:  .493  ARI:  .450

TB is the 3, ARI the 4.

Rams are the 5.

49ers are the 6 -- that's three NFC West teams in because they have 3 at least 8-6.

The 7-7 fun:  Philly, Minnesota, New Orleans for one spot.

No sweep or swept -- Minnesota played neither team.

Conference:  PHI 5-4, NO 5-5, MIN 5-4.  So it's now between Philadelphia and Minnesota.

Common games is the determinant.  49ers, both teams lost.  Panthers, both teams won.  Lions, Minnesota split, Philly won.  Chargers, Vikings won, Philly lost.  MIN 3-2, PHI 2-2.  Condition satisfied, Minnesota is the 7.

  1. GB 11-3 (NFC North Champions)
  2. DAL 10-4 (Leads NFC East Magic Number 1:  Wins conference record tiebreaker over TB and ARI)
  3. TB 10-4 (Leads NFC South Magic Number 1:  Loses conference record tiebreaker to DAL, wins Strength of Victory tiebreaker over ARI)
  4. ARI 10-4 (Wins divisional record tiebreaker with LAR to lead the NFC West.  Loses conference record tiebreaker to DAL and Strength of Victory tiebreaker to Arizona to fall here.)
  5. LAR 10-4 (Loses divisional record tiebreaker to ARI for the division lead)
  6. SF 8-6
  7. MIN 7-7 (Eliminates New Orleans on conference record, beats PHI on common games tiebreaker)
MIN @ DAL, SF @ TB, LAR @ ARI, GB gets the bye.

There are 11 NFC teams within one game of the playoffs at this point.

And Squid Game the Chicago Bears, as they join the eliminated.
