- New York City alone notched over 5,000 new COVID cases today, on top of the state total of 21,000 from yesterday.
- At least seven of the 32 productions on Broadway are at least in danger of closing due to the COVID spike, and have lost performances even as they try to stay open.
- One of them is Moulin Rouge, where an audience was told of it's cancellation yesterday after they sat down!
- Saturday Night Live will be without an audience tonight, and with a skeleton cast and crew.
- Allison Baver, former Olympic speed-skater -- latest athlete to try to scam the government's COVID programs.
- Washington DC, this week, had the most cases of any week since January.
- Nationwide lockdown in the Netherlands.
- A Washington state senator has passed away, presumably of COVID he contracted in El Salvador -- Doug Erick (GQP).
- CNN has closed most of it's offices to it's staff.
- Add the UCLA basketball programs to the list: Cancellations/postponements of the next week or so of games due to a COVID problem in the basketball program.
- On the field: Bashaud Breeland, the starting cornerback until today, was FIRED by the Vikings after a verbal altercation with coaches and teammates at practice.
- YouTube TV has lost the ESPN family of networks, and the rest of the Disney-based channels, in a dispute with Disney over costs, etc.
- Could the NFL, narrative-wise, be throwing in the towel on Super Bowl LVI, because they now do not believe it will take place? Only saying this because I don't think, after this week in far more than the NFL, that it will -- and the fact that Belichick suffered his first loss in about a month and a half today in the lone Saturday game.
- To give you an idea: The final day of the regular season is three weeks from tomorrow. It's five weeks from there to the Super Bowl.
- Jake Paul with an apparent one-punch knockout of Tyrone Woodley in the sixth round of his latest farce. At least I can say this from the early video: Shot DID look clean, right up by the temple. Fuck Jake Paul. Fuck his brother. That is all.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
