Day 630
- Steroid cheat and drug pusher to Marion Jones CJ Hunter has passed away, according to European reports. Two weeks short of his 53rd birthday. Thank you to my anonymous friend for the info.
- And now that I get a good look at that goal-line thing in Washington? That's a clear touchdown -- he gets the hand under and appears to have about as much control as you can have on that one. So we know the NFL was trying to concoct another Fantastic Finish (tm) of a complete shit MNF game...
- Been a tough week for LeBron James. Ejected two fans, suspended for a fight, fined for obscene gestures... Now, he's in the health protocols. The articles appear to indicate COVID (LeBron did say during pre-season media he WAS vaccinated...),
but the actual article only says "health and safety protocols". Maybe some official mental health time? - I stand corrected. Further articles do indicate "COVID Health and Safety Protocols" for LeBron.
- Probably no separate CFP post again this week, as Michigan replaces Ohio State, as fully expected. The other three teams are the same.
- The order might be important though:
- Georgia
- Michigan has, in fact, fully replaced Ohio State at #2.
- Alabama
- Cincinnati
- Oklahoma State
- Notre Dame
- Ohio State
- So there you have it. I think Cincy's fate is out of it's hands. Ok. State beats Baylor, and there you go.
- Cincinnati probably needs one of the following two things to happen: Ok. State loses to Baylor, Alabama gets rolled by Georgia. If neither of those things happen....
- Major League Baseball has ADMITTED using two different types of baseballs (at least) last year. Probably indicating the league either was, as many suggested, juicing the numbers, or the league was tampering with "certain games" and "certain teams" to ensure results.
- LATE ETA: My anonymous baseball friend does make a very good point! Probably not for individual games or for/against individual teams, or the pitchers might notice the difference and speak up. Good point!
- Brendan Lemeiux of the Los Angeles Kings is fortunate: He only got FIVE games for biting an opponent's hand. In my book, that starts at 15 or 20.
- And another good point from my anonymous friend: COVID considerations, NHL????
