The weekly Sports Media Watch ratings talk...
- FOX National: Packers-Chiefs was in 93% of the markets, and they still turned out, even though Rodgers is a lying pig. 12.6 rating, almost 24.4 million viewers. Best Week 9 game since Peyton vs. Brady seven years ago. Up 2% ratings and 7% viewers over a big Cowboys game in the slot last year.
- Also the best Sunday afternoon game of the year, and only eclipsed by the season-opener and the Tom Bradys playing in New England.
- FOX Regional: Cowboys led a big first half of the FOX double: 8.15 rating, almost 15.2 million viewers. Up by almost a factor of half over last year.
- CBS Single: Someone had to take the hit. 7.3 rating, 14 million viewers, down 16% ratings, 11% viewers from last year.
- SNF: Not good. 8.1 rating, 14.2 million viewers -- down about 15% from last year in both measures. That was also Titans-Rams, which might give you an idea that the NFL is probably eyeing both teams with a wary eye.
- MNF: No Manningcast (we get another one this week), but the Steelers-Bears farce drew a 6.8 rating and 12.1 million viewers -- 15% up in ratings, 18% in viewers.
- Sports Media Watch notes the only week ESPN has not improved, this year over last, was a dualcast with ABC in Week 2 of 2020. Eight of nine so far, with the Manningcast aiding in that realm several times.
