Day 608

  • Nick Chubb of the Browns is COVID-positive.
  • So is Demeric Felton.  Unlike some selfish liars in the league, both are vaccinated, and examples as to why we need to get this shit under control among the unvaccinated!!!
  • Tonight is the first night of the NCAA men's basketball season.  One has to wonder where this nation will be next March...
  • Tonight, between an ESPN doubleheader (they really can't afford to do that marathon anymore -- rats!), the second CFP ratings.  Fully expect Georgia-Alabama-Oklahoma-Oregon-Ohio State-Notre Dame-Cincinnati.  Will probably post when available...
  • During last week's Manningcast, Eli Manning flipped the camera the double-bird.  The reason Sports Illustrated notes it??  Three ESPN2 viewers got on the FCC about it.  There's one problem:  THE FCC HAS NO JURISDICTION OVER CABLE TELEVISION!!!
  • Manning was mimicking what he received from some fans in Philadelphia, including a kid he noted was probably as young as nine.
  • The taunting call was a "posturing at the bench" call, according to Tony Corrente.
  • It's official:  No one claimed Odell Beckham Jr. off waivers.  He is now a free agent.  I am actually going to be surprised if anyone takes him.
  • Sports Illustrated is now calling on the NFL to "stabilize" the Raiders.  Hate to say it:  It probably is going to require new ownership -- and I'm not 100% sure, even with the new stadium, if it might not require a new city...  (Yeah, I said it.  Sue me.)
  • California-Berkeley may be forced to forfeit at least the game with USC -- it has been postponed to December 4th -- after at least two dozen players tested positive for COVID before last week's game with Arizona -- Arizona's first win in two years.
  • And now there are MORE positives in the Cal-Berkeley program.
  • Add Anaheim Ducks GM Bob Murray to the list of NHL personnel on leave for unprofessional conduct.
  • Well, the results are in, and they're wholly unsatisfactory for the Packer investigation:  Team fined $300,000 -- Rodgers, $14,650...  Let's put it this way, though.  If there's ONE solace, it's knowing that, with the Pack being the recipients of a lot of Refball to get to 7-1, the league MIGHT not be so willing to help them out going forward...
