2021 NFL Week Nine Political Rankings, Such As I Can (Read that as: CHAOS!!!)

I think they just went ahead and decided to inject the same chaos that's permeating college football (sans Georgia) into the pro game, starting this week.

And it would not surprise me whatsofreakingever if there is a FULL REWRITE going on:
  • Las Vegas is toast, due to all their off the field issues.
  • Green Bay's sole Q-Rating is a lying anti-vaxx fuck.  No, I wasn't clear they were winning this week anyway, but I think the ramifications are going to be far beyond this season.
  • I said Tennessee was done without Henry -- so they just go and beat the LA Rams while they're at it, and utterly SCHOOL THEM while they are at it!!!
  • Dallas loses.
  • Cincinnati loses.
  • New Orleans can't beat Atlanta at home!
So I've got some fun after about #1 or #2 in the AFC, don't I???

Well, let me at least figure some things:

AFC

1) Baltimore

First, the easy part.  Lots of refball and rigging help to get past a Minnesota team that, realistically, had them to rights.  Now a fairly clear and away front-runner in the AFC.

In fact, I am safe to say that, for the first time this season, I have a Super Bowl prediction based on the week-to-week Political Rankings -- Tampa vs. Baltimore.

2) Tennessee

Don't want to, kinda have to.  That was a performance worthy of some respect for the Titans.  I'm just not sure what's there to get them to Valentine's Day Weekend.

3) Pittsburgh

If you're going to be THAT BLATANT with the Refball Monday night, there's a reason for it.  Maybe one more good run for Captain Fatfuck, Leader of Men????

4) New England

I think my second-choice for a Political Rankings Super Bowl would be Brady vs. Belichick again.  That said, there's a LOT OF WORK TO DO if they wanna convince me further of that one again!

Not sold on:

Anybody else in the AFC West.  Kinda interesting that every team in the division is now in a playoff tiebreak of some sort.  Kansas City, especially, had an opportunity to make some believers, but when you only can beat a beaten-down Green Bay side 13-7, we gotta talk!!!

Anyone else on that list is DUD OF THE WEEK material:

NOMINEE:  CINCINNATI.  What in tarnation was THAT???  You're at home, you need to keep pace with Baltimore -- and while they are floundering, you are utterly EATING IT vs. Cleveland, so much so that people are actually writing Cleveland is a better team WITHOUT Odell Beckham Jr.!!!  Nice one.

BUFFALO.  I fully expected Jacksonville to be unable to punch the end zone.  I didn't expect you guys to do the same!  So bad, it's the lowest-scoring game in two years and the first NFL game without a touchdown in the same period!

WINNER:  THE LAS VEGAS RAIDERS, AND THEIR ENTIRE ORGANIZATION

I am not kidding that I say that the NFL needs an investigation into this franchise, Mark Davis on down, right damned NOW.

You've got one all-but-vehicular murder to lose one 2020 1st round pick.

You lose the other one this week because you took a flier on a guy clearly not ready for prime time (and now we have to hope he gets actual help rather than what the mental-health types view as "help")...

And this after the whole Gruden thing.

No wonder no one gave you a break this week and you lost to the Giants.  Get fucking used to it -- especially in that division, you aren't winning too many more games this season, methinks...

NFC:

1) Tampa Bay

There's an old saying here, attributed to "Cowboy" Bill Watts of Mid-South Wrestling (or was it Ole Anderson???)...

"You're a fuck up.  But more people have come along since who've fucked up worse than you, so you actually go up the list without having done anything!"

2) Dallas

How bout that DUD OF THE WEEK NOMINEE???   Really...  HOW?????????????  That's Cincinnati writ larger, especially with what else happened in the conference this week!!

3) LA Rams

Why not another DUD OF THE WEEK NOMINEE???  Same questions.  You have a national stage and a real chance to do damage, and THAT EGG gets laid???

4)  Arizona

Don't want to, kinda have to again.  Again, that this is the Political Rankings is a very important feature of this, because I can't see, when the decision gets made, that Arizona has a tinker's chance of being The Choice when the time comes to make it!

MORE DUD OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

NEW ORLEANS:  Are you kidding me, New Orleans?  You're looking like utter world-beaters (and I thought of another angle this week -- the NFL is partnering with Caesar's Sportsbook in the wake of increasing state legalization of professional sports gambling, and the Saints have sold the naming rights of the Superdome to the same Caesar's company) some weeks, and then you lay eggs to Carolina, the Giants, and the Falcons???  You should, all rights, be UNDEFEATED!  Will the real New Orleans Saints...  please stand up!!!??

WINNER:  AARON RODGERS, AND HE ALONE.

Son, you don't know (or I have suspicion you MIGHT and did this intentionally!!!) how much damage you've done, politically, to the Packers.

Someone HAS TO WIN the NFC North, and, like a couple other divisions, I think it's too late to have some teams who have no real reason to be allowed in a booked NFL Playoffs there...

... but your anti-vaxx BULLSHIT just killed any real chance of a third consecutive NFC title game loss, which was probably your Political ceiling anyway.

You've not only endangered your team (which see the number of breakthrough COVID cases), but you've also basically torpedoed the Packers' efforts to really make a run they believed would get them to the Super Bowl -- even if intelligent people like me don't see a tinker's chance in that with Tom Brady and a non-doghouse Jerry Jones running around!
