Maybe part of this is that the numbers don't seem to be coming out til quite late in the week, but I keep almost forgetting to get the latest television ratings for the NFL from Sports Media Watch:
- CBS National: CBS got flexed the Packers-Seahawks returning-QB showdown on Sunday. And even though the game was UGLY AS HELL, it drew 22.7 million viewers and an 11.9 rating for CBS. Up 12-13% in both measures from last year -- down about 10% ratings, but only 2% viewers, from a Packers game two years ago.
- SMW points out the odd nature of last year's Week 10 -- that was the week of the rescheduled 2020 Masters Tournament.
- CBS Regional: 7.0 rating, 12.36 million viewers (about a third off of last year's FOX numbers, because FOX had the NFL for the morning slot exclusively last year Week 10).
- FOX Single: Mostly the Cowboys again, and 9.1 rating and 17.58 million viewers (over a half increase, but the Single last year was only a 4 Eastern start after the Masters wrapped up).
- CBS, as a whole, is up 8% for the year in the NFL, and is at a six-year high as the White Right NFL Boycott may finally be abating.
- Sunday Night: 9.3 rating, 16 3/4 million viewers for Raiders-Chiefs. Up 5-6% from last year, but down over a quarter from two years ago.
- Monday Night: 12 1/4 million for that ugly 49ers-Rams mess, up 7% from last year -- but that's all Manningcast: The Manningcast drew 1.55 million, the smallest since their first.
- Thursday Night: 7.4 rating, about 12.9 million viewers -- up 4-6% from last year.
