Murka Day (Observed) News and Notes

  • Not a good day for Murka on the basketball court in the Philippines, lost to Canada at the World Cup and the medals go Germany gold, Serbia silver, Canada bronze.  With Paris less than a year away...
  • Japan defeated Germany 4-1 in Germany in an international friendly...
    • After which Germany fired their national coach.
  • Not sure if the same is going to happen to Nick Saban at Alabama...
    • But the Crimson Tide suffered their first multiple-score loss at home in nineteen years when Texas came in and did a number on them.
  • When is someone going to shut down Michigan State University -- or at least it's football program?  Sexual harassment and more charges against Mel Tucker now, the head football coach!
    • Tucker has been suspended today.  (I thought I saw an earlier Tweet indicating he had been fully fired.)
    • The woman involved was a sexual assault/rape victim 25 years ago.  She was brought onto the Michigan State campus to educate the players against the very conduct their head coach just did!!  Fuck this program.
  • The World Meteorological Organization has found that June, July, and August are the hottest three months on Earth in history.  No surprise to anyone of intelligence paying attention.
  • Luis Rubiales has "resigned" after sexually assaulting the star player of the Spanish Women's World Cup champions.
  • Someone is pissed or the rigging is going out west...  Don't look now, but the dying Pac-12 now has eight of the top 25 college football teams.
  • WWE's Matt Riddle is now the subject of two investigations in New York City.
    • He was an unruly person in an airport after a flight and detained by Port Authority officials.
    • He claims he was sexually assaulted by a New York Port Authority officer during the detention process.
