- The debacle that is the Chicago Bears continues. Alan Williams, the defensive coordinator for the team, has resigned the position effective immediately -- there are reports the FBI has raided his home.
But then this shows up from Gavin Samson of 4th and 10, and this better not be true:
BREAKING: My sources are telling me former Bears DC Alan Williams’s house was raided for the largest consumption and distribution of child pornography the FBI has seen. Apparently Virginia Halas McCaskey, the bears owner, helped cover this up. Extremely disturbing.

IMPORTANT: As of 2 PM PDT the next day, this Tweet was, in fact, deleted. It is the first possible indication that the child pornography rumor may be false, however, because of the conduct of the franchise and other factors, that rumor is still in play.
We know Williams has resigned. That is all we can confirm.
But I want you to know that these are two explosive allegations. The Bears and Williams' representatives obviously are denying all of it. This would probably take an arrest and an announcement from the FBI for the time being.
And the announcement appears to be related to health and family. It better not be further than that, and somebody needs to get to the bottom of all of this.
There are also separate reports the FBI was also serving a search warrant at Halas Hall.
It appears the original report (which the reporter stands by) was from Jon Zaghoul, the founder of the syndicated Sports Talk Chicago:
BREAKING: According to sources familiar with the situation, both Halas Hall and Alan Williams’s home have been raided in connection with an undisclosed incident.
— Jon Zaghloul (@JonZSports) September 20, 2023
Alan Williams’s home was raided Sunday night, after the team’s Week 1 loss.
Halas Hall was raided THIS MORNING.
This is not the kind of shit you do without i's and t's, people. This is the kind of shit that can get people killed. I don't think this would be reported if it was just trolls, etc.
6:50 PM PDT: The Halas Hall part of it is largely being denied. However, there is still no clearcut denial of the situation at Williams' home.
