- NFL announces total ratings for the first four weeks are up 17% year over year.
And as for Week 5 (Sports Media Watch):
- FOX National: The Cowboys actually lost ratings year-over-year for this window. 88% of the country had Cowboys-Giants, down 7% in ratings and 4% in viewers over the same exact window in Week 5 last year. Lowest viewership in three years for the window.
- Sunday Night: Chiefs-Bills was up 14% ratings, 16% viewers over last year. Least-watched game for NBC this year so far, however. Not sure it was the blowout or the weather delay.
- FOX Regional: Up 10% ratings, 16% viewers. Mostly Packers-Bengals, and the best Week 5 in that window in at least TWO DECADES.
- CBS Single: Up 26% ratings, 31% viewers for the best Week 5 single in five years.
- Monday Night: Since it was only on ESPN, with no simulcast, it was the lowest of the year so far. However, it was the best ESPN MNF since 2015!
- London: Equal rating to both London games two years ago, slightly higher viewership.
- Thursday Night: Slight down ratings, slight up viewers. Surprised at that, with a good matchup for Thursday nights.
And does Spotrac have any fines, etc., for Weeks Three OR Four???
A FEW...
Week 3:
- Miami Dolphins: Malcolm Brown: $9,722 for a low block.
- Miami Dolphins: Elandon Roberts: $10,300 for conduct.
- Houston Texans: Christian Kirksey: $10,300 for a helmet to helmet hit.
Week 4:
- Houston Texans: Lonnie Johnson: $79,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct????
OK, let's stop right there...
So by his salary, he not only played for free Week 4, but more than that! What the Hell could get you $79,000 in fines in this environment???
I mean, that's about the best source I have, because so few fines have been publicized, but I can't, for the life of me, find what that was all about...
- Los Angeles Chargers: Joey Bosa: $28,917 for abuse of an official, non-physical.
- Denver Broncos: Justin Simmons: $10,300 for a face mask
- Baltimore Ravens: Odafe Oweh: $11,457 for Roughing the Passer
And the Ravens also had:
- Adrian Ealy from the practice squad, suspended six games for PEDs.
