Well, if there's any evidence game shows are NOT rigged, we just saw it tonight.

The Matt Amodio run is over.

Defeated, and comprehensively, by Jonathan Fisher and Jessica Stephens, Fisher the new champion.

Point the First:

I think it is pretty clear now that there are only four clues of any real importance in Jeopardy! -- the three Daily Doubles and the Final Jeopardy.  The rest of the match is gaining control of the board and enough of a bankroll to make those three clues count.

In his 38 wins, Amodio found 86 Daily Doubles and only missed 10.

He was 29-10 in Final Jeopardy.

He got none of the Daily Doubles today -- all went to Fisher.

(From Andy Saunders' game recap on The Jeopardy Fan.)

Point the Second:

If there was any real belief that someone would tinker with a show like Jeopardy! to get November ratings, this would probably have been the best shot, so you can probably thank, at the least, the reality that shows like this are governed under laws preventing this.

Though there IS one caveat:  This is the first episode of the Davies reign as Executive Producer, as Michael Davies was brought into replace Mike Richards.

Point the Third:

I was spoiled by an errant click on a Discord I am on of fans of The Price is Right.  Now, to be completely fair, that was MY ERROR.  The person did properly spoiler-tag it, and other matters only started leaking out after I had clicked, about two hours before it would've aired out here.

Andy Saunders, on his site, said he was glad to be wrong about it leaking out more fully, though I do have to wonder what the coincidence was that he actually placed an editorial on his The Jeopardy Fan site warning of spoilers when it finally happened.  It is clear, given when Richards was ousted and Davies came in to replace him, that this was probably about three weeks old.

So I do wonder if Saunders knew it was coming.  He's a big fan of the show and probably has some insight into the inner workings.

That said, the record books are safe now, and probably will be for quite some time unless someone can come up with a ratings stunt and someone has enough cojones to go for 5 or 10 million...

Amodio leaves #10 all-time all-shows with $1,518,601.
