NFL 2021 Week 6 Political Rankings

Well, that was mathematical fun.  Now for the more endemic part:  Where's this rig-job going???

Here is my view, and mine alone, of the current NFL booking...

AFC:

1) Baltimore

Pretty clear #1 at this point in the AFC.  And blowing out the Chargers really does kind of open up the gap between Baltimore and the rest of the conference in this regard.

2) Tennessee

To get Buffalo to take a clear dive on MNF, when all indications indicated Game #26 to be decided with a score in the last minute and/or OT, has to say a lot about their current position.  That said, they are FAR behind Baltimore at this point.

3) LA Chargers

And to give you an idea how far behind Baltimore everyone else is, I still have the Chargers at #3, pretty much for lack of another option.

NOT SOLD ON

Buffalo:  That's a more expected one there, even if it was a clear dive.

Las Vegas:  This is more a question of how things go, both shoot and kayfabe, going forward with Vegas.  Too many variables at this point.

Kansas City:  To use more wrestling terminology, they're going to be "working out from under".

Cincinnati:  What would they market if Cincy were in the playoffs?

AFC DUD OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

LA Chargers:  Ouch.  That was an exposition right there.  That basically shows you, at least as of Week 6, that the NFL is probably looking at Lamar Jackson in LA for Valentine's Weekend and LVI.

Cleveland:  Ouch.  Another exposition.  And I know, if one of the six Arizona Cardinal fans reads this blog, the question is going to be "When are you going to take us seriously?"  I'll answer that below.

TWO WINNERS THIS WEEK FOR AFC DUD OF THE WEEK:

MIAMI DOLPHINS, for being the first team in nearly a year and a half to lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

and HOUSTON TEXANS, for rolling over against Indianapolis.  Baltimore, I get.  Indianapolis, I don't.

NFC:

1) Tampa Bay

Tom Brady is still upright and they're winning?  Good, that's an easy one, next!

2) Dallas

Two blatant no-calls late in the game against New England gets another overtime win!  Gee, you don't think................

3) LA Rams

Which see not only my first "Not Sold On", but the answer to the above question:

NOT SOLD ON:

Arizona:  I'm not going to take them seriously, especially with Tom Brady, Dallas, and the LA Experiment up there.  Best case scenario, they probably get fucked in the divisional round.

Green Bay:  Ditto, though if you told me after Week 1 they'd be 5-1, I'd have looked at you VERY FUNNY.

New Orleans:  Will the REAL New Orleans Saints please...  stand up??

NFC DUD OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Chicago:  Only because Aaron Rodgers is right and he owns you to the tune of 22-5.

Detroit:  Because I'm not sure how many people actually expect these guys to win -- ever.

Washington:  At some point, Football Team Superfan Izzy Silyagi of Florida will put up more fight than the team she supports!

NFC DUD OF THE WEEK WINNERS:

THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL ANTS.  Not Giants.  Just Ants.  You know, it might help you with the booing, guys, if you guys didn't look like Rutgers football in that stadium, just saying?

SPECIAL LEAGUE-WIDE DUD OF THE WEEK TO THE NON-DIVISIONAL LEADERS OF THESE DIVISIONS:

THE AFC LEAST:  Four wins between you, and two of them in the division.  (MIA > NE, NE > NYJ)  A third is against the Texans, and the fourth...  HOWINFUCK did the Jets beat the Titans?

THE AFC SUCK:  Also four total wins, and two of them in the division (IND > HOU, HOU > JAX), and might well have two of the three worst teams in the league this season.

THE NFC LEAST:  Slightly better, five total wins between the three teams and only one of them in the division (WSH > Ants).
