- Well, what do we have here??
Game 4, 2 games to 1 Boston at home. 2-2 in the ninth. 2 out, 2 on for the Astros. 1-2 to Jason Castro...
This is what MLB.com said about his at-bat:
Inside corner, strike three. Eovaldi thought so too. (And, oh by the way, look at Ball 1 as well....)
Two pitches later, single plates one.
By the time the inning is over, the Assholes plate SEVEN and win 9-2. (And at least four or five pitches in the inning which led to walks or hits should've been strikes, but the ump decided to squeeze Eovaldi so the Assholes could win, retake home field, etc.)
None of that happens if that pitch on the corner is not called the strike three it was.
None of that happens if the second pitch is called the strike it was.
Now the series is on serve at 2-2 and will go back to Houston.
Greeeeat...
- A lot of assholes, and TBS, were making a lot of wind about how the Dodger fans were leaving, down 5-2 with six outs to go.
- My baseball-historian friend had a statistic: In the long and glorious history of the Dodgers, 81 previous times in playoff history, the Dodgers were down three or more runs with six or fewer outs to go.
- In those 81 games, the Dodgers were winless. 0-81. Yesterday was the first time in the long history of the Dodgers they got the win three or more runs down six or fewer outs to go.
