NFL 2022 Week 13 Fine Blotter

I don't know if this is the first major fines for faking injuries, but it's the first ones I've seen.  (Probably is, for this group, because the NFL actually sent a memo before last week's games to this effect.)

On a 3rd and 17 play, Cam Jordan of the New Orleans Saints was ruled to have faked an injury to slow down play midway through the fourth quarter (before the comeback) against the Tom Bradys.

For this:
  • He was fined $50,000.
  • His position coach was fined $50,000.
  • The head coach:  $100,000.
  • The team:  $350,000.
Not.  Far.  Enough.  The only way you are stopping this is to make that level of faking injury a forfeiture offense under Unfair Acts.  Jordan, the position coach, and the head coach need to be suspended for this week's game, and the Saints need to lose a draft pick -- the latter already having been proposed as a punishment for these acts in the past.

So now to the more conventional list for the week, per the NFL.com Saturday Roundup:
  • Cincinnati Bengals:  Jessie Bates also needs a suspension for the same reason:  He was also fined $50,000 for faking an injury.
  • Cincinnati Bengals:  Ja'Marr Chase:  $15,914 for taunting.
  • Buffalo Bills:  Damar Hamlin:  $4,806 for an ejection hit.
  • Dallas Cowboys:  Ezekiel Elliott
  • Dallas Cowboys:  and Dak Prescott:  $13,261 for an illegal celebration.  They reprised Zeke's Salvation Army pot "donation" with doing a Jack in the Box celebration.  Look, I'm a stickler against unsportsmanlike conduct, but FUCKING REALLY, NFL???  Unless it delayed the conversion play...  COME ON!!!
  • New England Patriots:  Mac Jones:  $10,609 for unsportsmanlike conduct, throwing the ball at a Bills player and hitting him.
  • New York Jets:  Jordan Whitehead:  $15,914 for a helmet hit.
  • Philadelphia Eagles:  AJ Brown:  $13,261, illegal celebration.  He walked in backwards and taunted his former team as he did so.
