- A domestic Qatari journalist has become the second journalist to die at the World Cup. Khalid al-Misslam has passed away, though no other details are being released.
- Chris Beard will be fired as head basketball coach at Texas. Arrested on a felony domestic violence charge today. By the charge, he apparently choked someone.
- He was suspended by the school on Monday.
- Mike Leach, head coach of Mississippi State's college football team, had a "personal health issue" at home Sunday and is in critical condition. Cardiac event, now in comfort care -- doesn't appear he's going to make it.
- Steve Robertson, an insider with Mississippi State, announced he and his will not break the story of what is (unsaid) basically Leach's inevitable imminent death. They'll respect the family's timing, but they have the tributes ready to go.
- Today is the 99th birthday of Bob Barker. Let's hope he sees 100. It is well-known he is not well.
- Reuters reports late this afternoon that the State Department has announced that the body of Grant Wahl has been returned to the United States. A large step to finding out what really happened here.
