2022 NFL Week 14 After Further Review, Part Two

Start with Jake the Asshole again...

10)  Chargers-Dolphins Sunday Night.  3rd and 9 for LA at their own 18.  11:15 to go in the third, 17-7 LA.

Jake's bitching about the Clay Matthews Rule here.  Sorry, that's been RTP for several years.  Not to say that RTP is not tweaked to ensure "certain results", but that is so textbook, it might as well be on next year's rules video for the Clay Matthews RTP.

Just meant 3 more plays to go out.

9)  Texans punting to the Cowboys, and another muffed punt.  7-0 Dallas, six minutes into the game.

Though I do have to wonder if they're playing fast and loose with the "interference with the opportunity to make a catch" situations sometimes.

Leads to a Houston TD.

8) Claimed scripted interception from the Seahawks to the Panthers.  First play after a touchback, 3-0 Carolina, first quarter.

Yeah, that kinda does look like he threw it right to the Carolina player, didn't he???  Results in a touchdown on the next play, 10-0 Carolina, on the way to the upset.

7)  Raiders-Rams, and another purported scripted interception.  Third and 5 for the Raiders at the Ram 10.  49 seconds to go in the half, 13-3 Vegas.

Complete bloody duck that one Ram actually stole from another to make it only slightly less obvious that was what was supposed to go down...

6) 49ers-Buccaneers.  33-yard touchdown when the Tampa defender makes an amateur move to get left in the dirt as the 49er receiver scores.

5)  Broncos-Chiefs.  Broncos ball, 2nd and 14 at their 33.  Two minutes into the third quarter, 27-14 Kansas City.

Not quite so sure on the "slop play" angle here.  There was at least a bit more plausibility than on most similar plays Jake talks about in this regard that the defensive players were being blocked.

Play goes for a 66-yard touchdown.

4)  Rams-Raiders, magnet catch claimed.

Davante Adams is getting MUGGED -- and the DPI was gonna get called anyway.  He somehow catches this one, though.  Watch where he catches it and how, especially on the replay.

3) Titans-Jaguars, Titans at the Jacksonville 3.  36-14 Jacksonville, 7:15 to go in the game.

The claim here is probably that the David Tyree-style catches are now having magnetic features in some of the WR helmets.  Only reason I'm not so convinced -- wouldn't that be caught in some of the contact between the WR's and the defensive players?

The catch, however, does seem to make it convincing.  Just try holding a regular football up to your helmet like that, much less catch it like that and be running, etc.

2) Cardinals-Patriots Monday night.  Jake is skeptical on the Kyler Murray non-contact injury -- which is a torn MCL, season over.

1) Eagles-Giants gets the honors.  There is some similarity to the Minneapolis Miracle take-out of one defender by the other.
