2019 Week 5 NFL Fine Blotter

I know, I know...

The bulk of this is going to come in on Saturday, but if we're getting players announcing they got the FedEx from the league...
  • Baltimore Ravens:  Like Earl Thomas:  $21,056 for Roughing the Passer
  • Green Bay Packers:  Aaron Jones:  $10,527 for Taunting.  (And should also be fined for throwing the ball into the stands on the same play.)
  • Cleveland Browns:  Olivier Vernon:  $10,527 for a punch.
  • Oakland Raiders:  Richie Incognito:  $21,054 for two fouls -- TWO-TIME LOSER -- unnecessary roughness and a chop block.  Should've been fined a third time for unsportsmanlike in the same game!
  • Oakland Raiders:  Maurice Hurst:  $21,056 for Roughing the Passer.
  • Oh and look, what a shock, add ANOTHER $50,000 to the check the Raiders have to cut the league.
  • And speaking of additional checks to the league, and these guys, every fine they get going forward!!!
  • Cleveland Browns:  Devaroe Lawrence is a TWO-TIME LOSER:  $10,527 for a face mask.
  • This makes the Browns the first team this season to reach dollar-for-dollar territory.  The Browns are fined $25,000 base, and an additional $6,385 for passing the final fine threshold of $221,117.
  • For on the field infractions alone, the Browns and their players have been fined over $309,000 through Week 5.  (Plus another almost $102,000 for drug suspensions.)
  • And could we now be actually seeing a rigging narrative for the 49ers?  The league had no problem, as they should not have, fining Aaron Jones for a blatant taunt in waving goodbye to his defender while scoring.  So why not do the same to Matt Brieda of the 49ers for the same foul?
  • Pittsburgh Steelers:  Stephon Tuitt:  $21,056 for a Late Hit.
  • Chicago Bears:  Eddie Goldman:  $14,037 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct
  • Chicago Bears:  Anthony Miller:  $10,527 for Taunting
  • Philadelphia Eagles:  Derek Barnett:  Another TWO-TIME LOSER -- $10,527 for a Chop Block.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Carlton Davis:  $28,075 for his helmet-rule ejection hit.
  • Minnesota Vikings:  Xavier Rhodes:  $21,056 for a Horse Collar Tackle
  • More, probably, to come.
