Legal Sports Report with this gem...
A Seton Hall University study actually finds that half of the people polled believe the NFL's officiating is actually good!! Only about a quarter think it bad.
But the headline number of the poll comes from the following: The precise question posed in the poll was: “Is sports betting, which has been legalized in many states, influencing people’s reaction to officiating of NFL games?”
62% of those polled said yes.
What this basically means is three out of five people believe that sports gambling is why some people think the officiating is good, and some think it sucks.
The question was NOT whether the officials are on the take to Vegas through the NFL -- it was whether they believed the fans were slanted on the basis of winning or losing money through the games.
Yeesh...
703 people were polled in this survey.
Anyone who wants to think "they'll stop watching if the games are rigged" doesn't understand that most people can't even make up their minds that they are!
