Another Interesting Top 100 NFL 100 Statistic...

As their second major project of the NFL's 100th season, the NFL did the 100 Greatest Games.

So, as I did for the plays, I wanted to see what the greatest game in the history of the NFL, according to this survey, during the regular season.

If you want to see how weighted the NFL is to the postseason, only 21 of the 100 games were regular-season -- only 2 of the top 35.

The greatest regular-season game in the history of the NFL, according to this survey:

The Dolphins ending the undefeated season of the '85 Bears -- at NUMBER TWENTY-NINE.

Shockingly, given the NFL's weighting toward the Super Bowl era, they actually named "The Greatest Game Ever Played" - the 1958 New York Giants-Baltimore Colts NFL Championship Game that was the first real beacon of football's popularity - as the #1.  45 million people watched that game, the first NFL Championship Game to go overtime.

#2 went to "The Catch" game.

#3, The Ice Bowl

#4 was that Chargers-Miami overtime game for the 1981-82 AFC divisional round, the "Epic in Miami".

#5 was the 18-1 Super Bowl.

#6 was Super Bowl III.

#7 was the playoff comeback of the Bills from 35-3 down against the Houston Oilers in 1992.

#8 was "You don't throw a pass on the one yard line when you have Marshawn Lynch."  smashes big-screen TV

#9 was the Falcons laying down for Brady and Belicheat's fifth.

#10 was Super Bowl XXV, Wide Right.
