Partial Week 1 NFL Fine Blotter

Almost no chance I do a full Fine Blotter or a spreadsheet or extra team fine numbers again this year.  The NFL deliberately underreported fines last year, and Twitter now requiring one to have an active and non-locked account to do searches (might be able to get around some of that with NoScript) is going to make that more difficult.

That said, Tom Pelissero has disclosed at least a few fines for Week 1:
  • Cleveland Browns:  As previously noted:  Ronnie Harrison, $12,128 for his altercation with a Kansas City Chiefs coach -- who got a league-wide memo started to not get that involved with other players, but was not otherwise disciplined.
  • Tennessee Titans:  Julio Jones, $10,815 for unnecessary roughness.
  • San Francisco 49ers:  Dee Greenlaw:  $5,169 for taunting on a pick six.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers:  Chase Claypool:  $8,354 for an altercation against Buffalo.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars:  Myles Jack:  the first TWO TIME LOSER of the season:  He got $20,600 for two separate violations -- Pelissero said two unsportsmanlikes, but I checked that, because that should've gotten Jack tossed from the game.  More likely, it was a face mask and an unnecessary roughness.
Some others I found:
  • Washington Football Team:  Derwin James:  $15,450 for a horse-collar tackle.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  All but admitting the game was fixed for the Tom Bradys, the league did correctly fine Lavonte David $12,875 for throwing a helmet, which should've been flagged at a key point in the 30-29 Bucs win over the Cowboys.
More almost-certainly to come.
