- Word that the Chicago Bears want to move out of Soldier Field and to the site of the Arlington racetrack...
- But there is a story brewing in Minnesota which is probably going to need some attention. An unannounced and unspecified "major misconduct investigation" has ended the local football program at Proctor High School near Duluth. The team is also banned from this year's Homecoming festivities (which should result in the cancellation of them, except for alumni events, IMODO), and things are getting so bad that players are now being heckled and could be effectively exiled for showing they are on the team. The coach is still employed as a science teacher, and has been with the school 20 years. I know that the MSN article I read says social media is making it worse -- but somebody better get a handle on this and get one on it fast. There are very few valid reasons to shut down a program without basically bringing in the cops for arrests yet (though law enforcement was part of the decision to shutter the program for the year, and is investigating), and those rumored (probably player-sodomy or rape) are probably at or near the top of the list.
- Speaking of sexual allegations, former players for the North Carolina Courage are saying now-former-coach Paul Riley forced sex on players, used homophobic slurs, and performed other harassive acts as coach of EVERY TEAM HE COACHED from at least 2011-12 to the present day. The Players' Association wants to know how he was hired to another team just months after this came out in 2015... He was fired from the Courage today.
- And people are losing money at Nevada casinos at a record rate: August, $1.17 billion -- the sixth month in a row that the casinos made a billion dollars off the
suckersbettors. - Frank Thomas and a group of investors have bought the "Field of Dreams" Iowa baseball complex.
- Well, I hope I remember this when the time comes... Looks like another year where the NFL is not going to really care about it's viewership for the Super Bowl -- the LVI Halftime Show is a rap crap-fest: Dre, Dogg, Eminem, etc. *faceaplm*
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
