Not a rigging point at this time, but definitely at least something to look at: The Matt Amodio Experience on Jeopardy!

Jeopardy!, very well, could have it's fourth millionaire for regular-season play by the end of this week.

Matt Amodio has survived Mike Richards Week and will enter the Mayim Bialik-hosted shows as the third-highest number of regular-season wins in history, 23.

He would need 9 more wins to tie James Holzhauer for #2.

We are not sure yet exactly when he would tie Ken Jennings' #74, mainly because we aren't sure what the syndicated show is doing for tournaments for November as of yet.  Estimates are...  some point in December.

His $825,801 total is also #3 all-time regular season.  He has an average win of $35,904 -- augmented by a $251,000 season-opening week.

18 of his 23 wins have been "lock games" -- where the leading contestant heading into Final Jeopardy has more than twice the second-place amount, assuring victory (unless your name is Cliff Clavin).  All five of his wins this week were locks -- and the amount he had the lock by dictates his ability to cash in Final Jeopardy.

A sweep of all five Final Jeopardys in the first week means he's 17-6 in that regard.  Of the Ultrachamps (archivist Andy Saunders' term for a player who won 10 or more matches in the regular season -- of which Amodio is the 10th), Amodio's 17-6 record is third to David Madden at 15-5 and Holzhauer at a ridiculous 22-1!

Amodio has converted 47 of 53 Daily Doubles, a record which is 4th.  Holzhauer is third, Matt Jackson is second, and David Madden is first.

The rest of these numbers are all based on the average winnings of $35,904 -- based on his current total of $825,801 so far:
  • He would become Jeopardy's fourth regular-season millionaire on Friday.
  • There is a kept archive of the ten highest winning single contestants in American game-show history on Wikipedia.  Reality shows do not count, teams do not count.  However, there is some dispute on Wikipedia, as to whether charity winnings count.  If they do not (and this has been the long-time practice), the #10 on the list would be The Price is Right's Adam Rose, who won a Million Dollar Spectacular to the tune of $1,153,908 in 2008.  That number would be surpassed, at present rate, by Amodio on October 1.
  • That would be the same day he would surpass James Holzhauer's 32 wins on the show.
  • If the charity winnings do count, then a bit of the back-history would have to be rewritten, and the #10 would be John Carpenter at $1,250,000.  That would take two further wins, to October 5th.
  • Saunders has an algorithm, based on years and years of Jeopardy matches, to evaluate champions and give probabilities as to their win streak lengths.  Right now, Saunders has Amodio at right about at 36 wins, which would put him at about $1.3 million.
  • #9 on the list is Curtis Warren, grand champion on both Sale of the Century and on Greed.  His $1,546,988 would be taken past on October 18th, at this rate.
  • To give you an idea of the absurdity of Ken's winnings and games-won records:  He would actually pass the winnings record of over $2.5 million four wins before he would break the games-won record -- but, again, we have no idea what interruptions in regular play may be coming this season...
