- Two South African soccer players have become the first athletes in the Olympic Village to be eliminated due to a positive COVID test. Which would mean they would've had to have gotten the virus IN JAPAN -- else they never would've been let in the country!!!
- The South African team has noted at least one further athlete has tested positive as well.
- Six Great Britain athletes are now under protocols in Tokyo. Contact tracing to a person on their flight over who has tested positive for COVID.
- The USA has lost Coco Gauff for the tennis tournament at the Games. Yep, COVID.
- Just over the weekend, organizers have admitted over 25 COVID positives from people associated with the Games.
- According to an article about the subject, the current full vaccination rate in Japan is just over 20%.
- A part-time staffer from Uzbekistan has been arrested on rape charges against another staffer in Japan National Stadium. The two had met earlier that day, watching rehearsal for the Closing Ceremony.
- Add Rowing to the sports investigated for abusive coaches, etc. The US Men's Rowing Team is having it's coach investigated by the USOC in the days leading up to Tokyo for abusing and belittling team members and prospects.
- Team USA men's and women's basketball won their final exhibition matches tonight before leaving for Tokyo tomorrow.
- Toyota has yanked all further financial support and advertising from the Tokyo Games because of it's deep domestic unpopularity due to COVID. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Toyota is one of five Japanese giants to throw a total of $3,000,000,000 to aid in financing the Games.
- The IOC has banned the Imperial "Rising Sun" flag from all Olympic venues...
- ... at the same time that the European Union wants it's flag flown at the event.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
