- England were fined 30,000 Euros for at least three different misconducts at Wembley on Wednesday: A laser pointer at the Danish goalkeeper, fireworks outside the stadium, and generalized disrespect of the Danish national anthem. So the only question now: Are the officials going to be brave enough to ensure Italy wins tomorrow?
- There is a definite problem between Ronald Acuna Jr. and the Florida Marlins. Acuna was plunked for the 7th time in three years by the Marlins.
- Another continuing march toward the death of the NCAA: A second-tier minor-league pro basketball prospect team has signed a high-school junior who, at 16, has signed a million-dollar contract.
- Shohei Ohtani, about the only reason to even care about the All-Star Game next week, jacked one into Mark McGwire territory in Seattle last night. Now just wait til Monday when the rarified air and no humidor for the Home Run Derby, for which Ohtani is the #1 seed. Ohtani is slated to both pitch and hit in the All-Star Game on Tuesday in Colorado.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
