Speaking of sexual harassment and workplace culture: HAIL TO THE FOOTBALL TEAM!

The NFL tried to get one under the radar today.

The NFL has fined the Washington Football Team $10 million and soft-banned (and even that was deemed "voluntary" -- and if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you in Libya) from the sport Daniel Snyder after a one-year investigation into at least FIFTEEN YEARS of the team's workplace culture -- including sexual harassment and apparently the absolute gamut of insensitivities, including race, LGBT, etc.

The situation surrounding the cheerleaders and the abuse heaped on them by Snyder and well-to-do monied people around him was only a small part of this situation.

At least 40 former employees of the Football Team came forward to the NFL, and are outraged at the level of the penalty.

No one should be surprised that the league protected Snyder.  Anyone who believes the NFL gives a tinker's damn about women, gays, or anything else other than monied White men needs an education as to the power structure of professional football -- and needs it good and fast.

And no one should be surprised that, given the level of apparent abuse, the NFL chose the path of least resistance here.

To adequately punish this franchise, you would bluntly be down to one option:

Though I would say "Fold the team!!" in some degree of disgust, it's clear that this is a workplace issue and far beyond the purview of the players.  So the only reason the franchise should not be folded is the complete insulation of the players from this situation.

To adequately deal with this situation, the NFL would not only have to hard-ban Snyder from the sport and remove him as owner of The Football Team and sell the team, the NFL would have to (in the interim) fully seize operations of The Football Team (I almost typed it...) and run the franchise themselves.

EVERY MAJOR PARTY IN THE TOP LEVEL OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM WAS FOUND RESPONSIBLE.

Without apparent exception.

Every last one.

So everyone has to the dreaded "sensitivity training".

Dan's wife Tanya takes over during Dan's soft-ban.

During the soft-ban, Dan will be working on a new stadium and a small number of other matters, which Tanya is the "CEO of record", with respect to contact with the league.

They gotta throw Snyder out of this league -- for many more reasons than this.

But is anyone surprised?

Really???

REALLY?????

  1. These women that still want to be cheerleaders in this country are pathetic, especially at the NFL level. They are basically prostitutes.

    1. I would not use "pathetic" to describe them.

I do wonder, however, how many of them would actually do this if they knew how absolutely blatantly sexual what they do actually is...

And you know who's responsible for that? The men. The culture they create...
