We have three tiebreakers to handle.
- First, we have to resolve Cincinnati vs. Milwaukee for 3rd in the NL Central. The two teams are 4-4 with a hyper-critical 3-game series in Cincy starting Monday. But Cincinnati is 19-18 vs. the NL Central, Milwaukee is 16-16. So this means Cincinnati, right now, has the 3rd spot in the NL Central.
- Now, Cincinnati vs. San Francisco.San Francisco is 15-17 against the NL West, so not only does Cincinnati win the 2nd 3rd place spot, San Francisco falls below Milwaukee in the ranking thereto as well.
- Now you break Chicago and Atlanta for the #2 and #3 seeds. Both teams are 21-15 in their division. So the tiebreaker then becomes the records in the last 20 division games between the two teams, and, according to MLB.com, the Cubs currently have that tiebreaker.
