Day 184. Six Months.

  • Not only is today September 11th, with everything that means...
  • We are now six months into the effects of this pandemic on sports.
  • Mike Wallace has been suspended indefinitely for violating NASCAR policy regarding a social media post which appears to be against inclusion matters.
  • Daniel Hause of the Rockets is done for the season -- he has left the NBA bubble and will not be allowed to return.  The Rockets are now 3-1 down to the Lakers.  The investigation has found he violated the rules by letting a woman into his hotel room.  He's done for the year.
  • Apparently appears to be a dispute with the University of Memphis football team.  They now have 20 positive tests, it is reported, and it appears next week's game with Houston may be off.  Additionally, there is a dispute as to how the players may have gotten the positive tests.  One story has the Memphis players renting a party bus, and it believed they got it from there.  Many of the players involved, however, deny this and state they believe they got the virus from players from Week 1 opponent Arkansas State and want THEM tested.  Stay tuned.
  • Interesting story about last night's Holey Moley Grand Champion.  If you recall earlier in the season, and my anonymous friend did, Tanner Beard was defeated in his semifinal event on his week's show, but, mysteriously, one of the two finalists that week withdrew without much explanation given.  Tanner won that week, defeated two other champions in his semifinal on last night's show, and then defeated the final three champions by sinking the 100 foot putt on the Tomb of Nepher-Tee-Tee to win the Jeweled Putter of Nepher-Tee-Tee and $250,000.
  • We will have another All-Sport Day Sunday because the Nuggets made it to Game 6 with the Clippers.  Counting games in the NFL, NBA, NHL, NBA, WNBA, and MLS.
  • One game which won't be played is Giants-Padres...  At least the games tonight and tomorrow are postponed because someone in the Giants organization has tested positive for the virus.
  • The proposed plan for the playoffs for MLB is set:  They'll do the Wild Card series in the home parks.  Then something VERY interesting.  The American League will use Dodger Stadium (DS) and Petco Park (DS and CS).  The National League, Globe Life Field (DS and CS) and Minute Maid Park.
  • Meaning the #1 seeds in each league will be playing in the OTHER PARK!
