Day 194

Starting with some early Week 2 ratings news on the NFL:

  • From Showbuzz Daily:  Early ratings indicate another -20%+ bloodbath for Sunday Night Football.  Estimated about 14-15 million viewers.  (A later source puts the drop at -17%)
  • Thursday night's NFL Network-only game held steady in it's limited audience.

Other stuff:

  • The Michigan-Ohio State game is apparently now scheduled for December.  So WHEN we get outbreak postponements, when is this season supposed to end??  What a fucking joke!
  • At least two dozen major injuries marred Week 2, including the only apparent relevant player on the Giants and four stalwarts from the defending NFC Champion 49ers.
  • Robert Kraft is pretty much done off scot-free from that massage-parlor sting of a couple years ago.  The judge threw out the relevant video tapes, and the prosecutors will not appeal.  Of the important, by the important, and for the important...  But again, I don't think people want to KNOW who all the names actually were, so this had to get swept under the ground at some point...
  • Checking a couple more days, but we may not have Fine Blotters this year unless they start getting publicized in future weeks.  There were some fine-able offenses in Week 1, but I still haven't seen anything to indicate they've been processed.
  • New York City, Portland, and Seattle have been named as "anarchist jurisdictions" by Barr.
  • Watch out for Refball tonight, probably for the Raiders.  Not only the opening of Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (once fans are allowed, the first stadium in the world where cash will NOT be allowed), but also the 50th anniversary of the first Monday Night Football game.
  • Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin will finance Bubba Wallace's next team in NASCAR.  Provided NECKCAR's White fans don't hang the guy first...
  • Another WWE COVID outbreak -- this one contained in NXT... Might've been one of the reasons that the WWE put out Thunderdome in the Amway Center in Orlando for the other two brands...
