Week 4 Fine Blotter: A Couple More This Week

  • New York Giants:  Odell Beckham Jr.:  $8,681 for striking another player.
  • Detroit Lions:  Matthew Stafford:  $5,787 for a uniform violation.  Illegal shoes, apparently.
  • Buffalo Bills:  Jerry Hughes:  First TWO TIME LOSER of the season.  Total of $31,833 for an unsportsmanlike conduct (a headbutt!!) and a non-physical abuse of referee separate infraction.  Actually, the $23,000+ for non-physical abuse should've been doubled -- he's a repeat offender from around Thanksgiving of last year for the same offense!  He should've been tossed and fined at least double what he was!  The Bills, to no one's shock, lead the NFL with 47 penalties.
  • Miami Dolphins:  Jarvis Landry also fined $23,152 for non-physical abuse of the referees.
  • Minnesota Vikings:  Xavier Rhodes:  $17,363 for a horse-collar tackle.
  • Carolina Panthers:  Josh Norman...
  • New Orleans Saints:  Khiry Robinson...
  • St. Louis Rams:  Stedman Bailey, each $8,681 for using the ball as a prop during the touchdown celebration.

  1. Harrison Smith of the Vikings deserved to be fined as well. He went head to head on Bronco WR Demaryius Thomas and injured his neck (he isn't in the concussion protocol, amazingly). There wasn't even a penalty called.
