In the spirit of the Damon Bruce debacle on KNBR a couple years ago, Atlanta radio host Mike Bell earned himself an unscheduled and unpaid vacation (read: he has been suspended for two weeks) for slamming ESPN and a female commentator in the booth of last night's Yankees-Astros snorefest of a Wild Card play-in game.
ESPN employed Jessica Mendoza, formerly of the US National softball team, as part of it's commentary team for the game last night. (And, listening to seven innings of that game while I was watching it at a local sports bar, she did quite well.)
Bell didn't agree, and someone (a Purdue Boilermaker blog site)caught the Tweet before it was deleted (about his third slamming ESPN's decision on employing her):
A woman made history tonight calling an MLB Playoff game for ESPN. This is what an Atlanta radio guy thought of it. pic.twitter.com/xf3Rc07EFY
