The state of Nevada, yesterday, shut down the major daily fantasy websites in their state.
A.G. Burnett, chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, ruled daily fantasy IS gambling, forced it to be licensed within the state, and, hence (until they do) shut daily fantasy sports down in the state of Nevada.
Of course, this COULD lead to the entire fantasy industry ruled gambling as well, but this is a major step toward an imminent Federal shutdown of the entire process.
Nevada becomes (as of a Deadspin article last night) the 12th state to ban at least one of the six major daily fantasy sites, and Legal Sports Report (which they cite) notes that Nevada would become the 11th such state to ban at least one, and the sixth to ban them all (Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, and Washington).
