More football thuggery.
Mass brawl in a junior-college game tonight in Mississippi -- involving one of the two schools in a game in which a ref got tossed earlier this year for getting into it with a coach!
East Mississippi CC and Mississippi Delta CC got in a Miami-Florida International brawl on the field, and Scott Walters from the Commercial Dispatch has the reason why:
EMCC has called a pair of timeouts to force the punt and secure one more first-half possession, leading 48-0

Trash cans being thrown, players running wildly all over the field ... This has gone on for five minutes
— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015
EMCC’s Buddy Stephens “it all started in the pregame with one of our managers getting five stitches (from an attack by a Delta player)”
— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015
And ended with...
From a personal standpoint ... Kudos to the Delta linebacker who threw a garbage can 20 yards in the air ... Easily enough for a first down

East Mississippi CC is supposed to be in the playoffs next week for the state community college championship, but...
If all players leaving the bench area receive a one-game suspension then playing a playoff game next week in severe jeopardy
— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015
More from coach Stephens, who should immediately disqualify his team from the playoffs and save the state committee the bother:
Stephens “I put this on us for our lack of discipline, the referees for not controlling the game and (Delta) for (it’s) lack of discipline.”
— Scott Walters (@dispatchscott) October 23, 2015
And especially for what precipitated this comment:
Stephens “We told our guys how this game would be and how they would play. If they don’t listen, I simply can not help them.”
