Deadspin just got it's Twitter account SUSPENDED today.
Word is that, since the NFL and Twitter now have an agreement for NFL highlights, Deadspin's use of NFL highlights now violates copyright and has gotten the account yanked.
Basically, according to CNN back in August, the NFL now has sole rights over posting highlights to Twitter, off an extension of a partnership deal that has spanned the last three seasons.
So, today, they DMCA'd on Deadspin -- no word for what, and Deadspin has not come back with their usual snark post... yet!
(UPDATE 5 PM PDT 10/12: According to Keith Olbermann's Twitter, which he was ready to use as a Deadspin surrogate, the suspension has been lifted. Knowing Deadspin, though... This will only be temporary til the next time they piss off the NFL -- which might not last the Monday nighter.)
(UPDATE 5:10 PM PDT: ... probably about ten minutes.)
