Tom Brady, Foolish And Wretched One-Dimensional Glory Hog

I will agree on one and really only one point from all the post-mortems of the last few days, even before Brady made it official:

This IS the End Of An Era in the NFL.

From the day Tom Brady replaced Drew Bledsoe as the quarterback of the Patriots, and from the day the NFL converted 9/11 into a political propaganda machine which has netted the Patriots six NFL championships and Brady himself a seventh, Tom Brady has been the National Football League and it's associated National Religion.

He has been the centerpiece around which everything in the NFL has rotated -- beginning as said propaganda piece and converting into taking what David Stern and the National Basketball Association started, sports-wide, with Michael Jordan and his "Jordan Rules" rigged championships and PERFECTING IT.

The NFL of 2001 made major plays at being legitimate sport and scoffing at those of us who believed.

The NFL of 2022 has all but made the officiating a central pillar of it's broadcasts.  Every network has an officiating expert on call for the "controversial calls of the week" as they occur in each contest, as well as to wag their fingers at players to be ejected for punches and fights.

And where do you put all of this?  The propaganda exercise which was Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr.

It all started so simply, as I have tried to explain even in the last couple of weeks.  It started as a political situation, as the NFL decided to use the events of 9/11 to parlay itself from National Obsession to National Religion, complete with government propaganda to back them up on at least two fronts:  A monetary agreement between the United States government/military and the NFL (causing some of us to refer to the NFL as The Fifth Branch of the US Military), but a very simple thought process for the American sheep:

"PATRIOTS ARE CHAMPIONS!

BE A PATRIOT, AND YOU TOO CAN BE A CHAMPION!"

And the centerpiece of this entire movement was Tom Brady.  A white-meat babyface from the University of Michigan who, after his ascension to Godhood began with, if not THE most rigged Super Bowl in the history of the game, it's on the list...  But, after the second rigged championship, First Lady Laura Bush actually named Brady as a guest to her husband's 2004 State of the Union address, being heralded as a hallmark of drug-free athletes.

(The laugh track on that can begin, at most, in a few years after that!  We'll get to that!)

The Patriots won three titles in four years (all rigged or through the other team taking a dive, if not both).  But then something happened, if you were paying attention:  The entire facade of the NFL as legitimate sport was flaking -- first subtly, eventually not so much.  One could make a case for every Super Bowl since to be manipulated either through the league, the losing team taking a dive, or both.

Tom Brady and his worshippers normalized this.

Not that this didn't bite them in the royal derriere more than a few times:

  • The day before a Super Bowl in which New England was largely favored to complete the NFL's first 19-0 undefeated season and playoffs with a win over the Giants, The Boston Globe blows the lid off of Spygate.  The Giants win one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history less than 48 hours later.
  • The next time the two teams meet for the Lombardi, it is now clear that Brady's legacy is all but completely tainted, and the league not only scripts another Giant victory, but a number of the New England receivers are reported to possibly be in on the action themselves!
  • And then the final straw -- we'll get there in a second...
But going back, the NFL now realizes it has an opportunity.

The NFL, as National Religion, has wanted to make itself The Only Sport In Town, To Which All Others Must Bend And Kneel.

So now, as they have The Man they believe they can do it with -- it's time to go after The Pantheon.

The Foolish And Wretched One-Dimensional Ballhog and his place as THE GOD OF AMERICAN SPORT.

As such, the NFL orchestrates a fix and lay-down for the largest Super Bowl comeback in the history of the game against the Atlanta Falcons for title #5.

It then orchestrates a stand-down or such of the Los Angeles Rams in the first attempt to put over the LA Experiment for title #6.

But something happens the year in between...

In 2017, word was getting out that Tom Brady was using his own doctors and trainers and a drug concoction under his "TB12" branding.

This, in and of itself, is not unusual.

So why, then, does Bill Belichick, who has already partnered in cheating with Brady for five championships, decide to put his foot down with Brady (in an action it is still believed Brady has NOT forgiven Belichick for) and banned all the TB12 people from the Patriots grounds?  (For the record, he did say that players could seek TB12 treatments, but that would be on TB12 property.)

Why does this happen...  UNLESS BELICHICK HAS EVIDENCE THAT TB12 IS A PED PROGRAM?

So much for "drug-free pantheon of athlete"!

The next February, after a mysterious benching of a major defensive player from the game just before the game is played, it appears Bill Belichick openly threw a Super Bowl as a power play to state he, as the head coach, was in charge in New England.

Two years later, Tom Brady heads to Tampa Bay and wins title #7 there.

Yes, I believe Tom Brady extended his career by a number of years through the use of PEDs, openly known, sanctioned, and allowed by a league supposed to be banning them -- much in the same way Bonds, Clemens, etc. did in Baseball.

Why, because the NFL, in the name of being The Only Relevant Sport, needed that Jordan Pantheon.

Well, if they have it, it's because Tom Brady is a Foolish and Wretched One-Dimensional Glory Hog.

If you want Tom Brady's legacy to the NFL (the normalization and acceptance of rigged results in professional football), I have but one question:

Unless you're Brian Tuohy and you do not believe in coincidences, how then does it come out on Tuesday Brady is retiring and, by the END OF THAT SAME CALENDAR DAY, you have TWO NFL coaches, one under penalty of perjury in a lawsuit, stating there is sports bribery to throw games in the National Football League?

THAT is Tom Brady's legacy -- the complete eradication of all remaining legitimacy in not only the NFL, but professional and relevant college-pro sports in the United States.

  2. Someone else might want to explain what is so funny about that.

  3. Someone on You Tube (may be true, may not be) said that Belichick wanted the rookie Brady to bulk up before the 2000 Patriot Training Camp. And, Brady grew up in the shadow of BALCO. He may have been one of their biggest customers.

    1. That's almost certainly a no on Brady and specifically BALCO. Read "Game of Shadows" and you'll see how detailed the investigation got at the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative.

If the dumpster-diving had come up with anything on Tom Brady, it may well have been more explosive than Bonds!
