Day 662

  • James Harden and Ben Simmons have Operation Shutdowned for each other -- the megadeal goes off and the Nets and Sixers pull it off.
  • Brad Marchand suspended six games for that cheap shot.
  • The 2022 Football Hall of Fame class got their knocks on the door today:
  1. Seniors finalist Cliff Branch
  2. Dick Vermeil
  3. Former NFL head of officiating Art McNally, as a contributor
  4. Offensive lineman Tony Boselli
  5. LeRoy Butler
  6. Sam Mills
  7. Richard Seymour
  8. and Bryant Young
  • No offensive skill-position players were chosen this year.  Boselli was the only offensive player at all.
  • Only Seymour, among the five modern players, has not had to wait at least 10 years of eligibility for The Knock.  Mills was in his 20th and final year of eligibility as a modern player.  He'd have gone into the Seniors pool Branch was just elected from.
  • And in a further indication (Brian Tuohy, from Wisconsin, is convinced of it!) that Aaron Rodgers was a me-first sabotage season, Rodgers The COVIDiot has won his second consecutive NFL MVP, the fourth time he has won this award.
