- We apparently have either a correction or a retraction on Hue Jackson. He did not say, or was forced to retract, that he took money to lose as coach of the Browns. He DOES still reiterate, and states proof will be produced, that the Browns intended to lose with him as coach, and it was meant to damage his career, that of everyone else on the team, and every Black coach to come after him.
- Jackson's original statement being believed he was directly paid to lose probably came that he does claim (and said Wednesday night) that bonuses were, however, offered to basically gutting all the veterans on the team (for the ranking that the team was among the youngest in the NFL) and for the accumulation of draft picks as part of a four-year plan -- two acts associated with losing teams.
- Tony Corrente is retiring after 27 years as an NFL official after the Pro Bowl.
- Adrian Gonzalez has retired from baseball.
- On the same weekend the Winter Olympics begin, several American gymnastics stars are starting their college careers.
- It appears as if Navy Seal Team Hell Week is meeting it's intent: One applicant is seriously injured in the hospital. Another has been killed by the testing.
- This is getting ridiculous. Someone please tell me where this is even remotely acceptable: 4:44 left in the fourth in an NBA game last night between Charlotte and Cleveland, at least two Cleveland bench players interfered with a Charlotte three-point shot. One, who stepped ONTO THE COURT, was assessed a T, the three-point basket counted as an Unfair Act (even though the basket was actually shot three seconds after another foul had been called), and the free throw converted. The ensuing possession resulted in a turnover, so the damage was 4. Cleveland wins 102-101 on two free throws with 1.2 seconds left. The question many, including Brian, probably have was why the Unfair Act rule was invoked, because of the previous foul. Still, how are we putting up with a lot of this garbage between players from the outside in recent memory?
- Earlier this week, a bar outside Spokane lost it's entire staff after the bar began promoting a party in which one might catch COVID. In fact, discounts would be provided to anyone who could produce a positive COVID test. *thud* I rest my damn case on some of these people!
- A between-tournaments event for Fuji TV was cancelled today because over a dozen sumo wrestlers have tested positive for COVID-19.
- Oh no... Domino's, what the fuck are you doing? In a co-brand with CBS' "Survivor", Domino's Pizza will give $10,000 to the delivery driver who can log at least one 3-hour, 6-delivery shift every day for at least 60 days, and up to 90. If multiple drivers can confirm they have done so for the maximum time, they'll split the money. FACEPALM!
- On the eve of her 70th Jubilee, Queen Elizabeth has officially said that Camilla will be Queen Consort to Charles when the longest-reigning monarch in world history finally passes away.
- Morocco was enraptured with the attempt to save a 5-year old boy from a 100-foot well -- they were only feet from him today, and then, when they finally got there, the boy didn't make it.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
