Day 659

  • In the "It Stands To Reason" Department:  MLB has suspended steroid testing for the first time in two decades, due to the lockout.  If you don't see how FUCK ROB MANFRED can take advantage of this...
  • Apparently, the Las Vegas arrest of Alvin Kamara was for an incident caught on video -- and it was allegedly a four-on-one attack.
  • The attack was the morning of the Pro Bowl -- 6:30 AM the morning of the Pro Bowl -- he was arrested after the game.  He did play in the game and caught four passes in the NFC win.  I don't give a DAMN if it's the Pro Bowl.  What is any player doing out at an after-hours all-night club until 6:30 AM the morning of any game???
  • Kyler Murray may be on the beginnings of his way out of Arizona.
  • In a classic case of "You're Having A Slow News Day And You're Trying To Drum Up Something":  Sports Illustrated posits that LeBron James could very well leave the Lakers...  One of the theories, however, is that he can play with his son in the NBA when Bronny can be in the NBA, in the fall of 2024...  NEXT!!!!
  • Dakota Dozier's hospitalization for COVID in November apparently (they didn't say, but Yardbarker matched it up with the NFL's announcement) was the only COVID hospitalization in the league this year.  Vaccinations, people!!
  • In another example of the Barstool-ization of sports, as well as something which could branch into any number of other stories, Mark Lye has been fired from SiriusXM Radio for the former PGA Tour professional giving misogynistic comments about female athletes, including that he'd rather shoot himself than watch them in sports, after watching a series of WNBA highlights.
  • Super Bowl Week begins -- and it's too quiet to merit it's own post.
  • However, the official Madden simulation is in, and it has the Bengals winning the Lombardi 24-21 -- with a field goal at the gun!  Knowing the NFL, if that game is even at a -3 for LA, take the points, regardless of who you think is going to win the game!
  • The Houston Texans have hired a Black coach -- not Flores, but Lovie Smith gets another shot at the helm in the NFL.
