Split this into two parts because of unexpected length.
And yes, the same seriousness and mafia-style I believe Snyder may go with.
The complications, apparently, placed into the sale of the Commanders are stemming from Jon Gruden's 2022 lawsuit against the NFL for his firing and the role of the Snyder emails in so doing.
And if you read the post just below, you can see why Gruden would also have an interest in nailing the NFL.
Gruden has basically won every step of the way so far. The league is now trying to direct it into it's preferred legal avenue of litigative arbitration, something Gruden is refusing -- going so far this week as to state he wishes to "burn it all down": that if he's going down, the entire league is going with him.
Oh, if he only were to succeed.
And as I said when this situation first came to light, I don't even think you have to get to the lawsuit itself.
One of the things they always say in court: Discovery is a bitch.
If the NFL is forced to even discovery-level on this, those emails become public record and will be perused.
Do I have to state (not just on the Gruden firing and the Snyder forced sale) the nuclear bomb which could well be set off against the NFL if that occurred?
Remember, Gruden has full understanding that he believes the NFL is rigged (one of his major contentions with the league has been "inconsistent officiating") and a tentacle in a half-century grudge between Raiders ownership and the NFL (one of the reasons I think it might be in best interest to permanently get the Davis' out of NFL ownership good and quickfast).
If that email trove ever becomes public, it could end the NFL -- and that is what it appears Gruden WANTS. He has stated he wishes not to settle at ANY PRICE.
And this has an impact on the Snyder sale to the Harris group. Snyder is prepared to pull the plug on his part of the deal, stating that, in exchange for allowing the deal to go through, he is not to be held responsible in any way for illegalities the NFL committed and any share of a payment Gruden would eventually receive.
"Stay Tuned" would put it lightly on this one. The meeting at which the sale is supposed to go through is scheduled for next Thursday in Minneapolis.
Florio was talking about Gruden a few days ago: Jon Gruden is 'serious' about Taking Down the NFL
