Circa 100 games, here's the kayfabe Road to Cobb County vs. Houston...

AL East:  Tampa has cooled significantly, and it's the Baltimore Orioles at 62-38 leading by 2 (4 games in the loss column) over Tampa.

AL Central:  Minnesota has rode an 8-2 Last Ten to five over .500 and a 3-game lead over Cleveland.

AL West:  Texas, at 59-41, 3 up on Houston.

Best Record in the AL:  Baltimore by 2 over Tampa, 2 1/2 over Texas, 5 1/2 over Houston, 6 1/2 over Toronto.

AL Wild Card:  Tampa first at 20 over .500, 3 1/2 up on Houston, 4 1/2 on Toronto.   Boston and the Yankees are tied for last place in the AL East.  But, at 6 over .500, both 53-47, they are the next two teams in line, and only two games out of the playoffs.  This is what happens when there are only two teams more than 6 games over .500 in the other two divisions.

Oakland Watch:  28-74, they won Saturday.  12-46 would be required for 40-120.

  • A 6-4 Friday loss drew 6,810

  • and today, 11,231 saw a 3-2 Asshole win.
Oakland has a 1/2 game "lead" on Kansas City (28-73) for worst record in the AL.

NL East:  The Braves have sprinted away, 64-34.  Best record in baseball (by 3 over Baltimore) and the National League (by EIGHT over the Dodgers), and 11.5 up on Philadelphia and Miami.

NL Central:  Milwaukee is 55-45, 1/2 up on Cincinnati.

NL West:  A 7-2 road trip east has the Dodgers at 57-41 and 4 up on both the Giants and the Diamondbacks.
