Day 651

  • Vince McMahon got out of the way of the NFL and got his Royal Rumble in Saturday night.
  • And it's Part Timer Mania again:  Brock Lesnar (after losing the Raw title to Bobby Lashley) and Ronda Rousey are your Royal Rumble winners.  yay...  joy /s *twirls middle finger*
  • Why are you expecting ANYONE to watch Raw and Smackdown, Vince?  Fucking idiot.
  • Predictions for the games today:  LA vs. Kansas City -- BLM Super Bowl.
  • And the first one wrong anyway.  Third recent time that conduct issues have probably scuttled a big Kansas City run.
  • Interesting game today in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers.  The United States is in Hamilton to face FIRST PLACE UNDEFEATED Canada.  Canada already has a win and a draw over Mexico and a draw with the United States in the eight-team group -- from which three directly qualify to Qatar for a November-December World Cup and a fourth goes to an interconfederational playoff.  They've drawn that opponent.  It's Oceania, probably New Zealand.
  • And Canada wins 2-0!!!  Canada is all but certain, with four rounds to go, to WIN the CONCACAF Qualifer Finals group.
  • And we lost Howard Hesseman today to complications of colon cancer surgery.  He was 81.
  • In one of the most incredible things, especially when we find out what the odds were of Cincinnati winning the NFC title were at the start of the season:  CBS, the AFC network, had Drew Carey use The Price is Right's "Punch a Bunch" board to "select" the "predictions" of the conference champions at the start of the season.  NFC:  New Orleans Saints.  loser horns
  • He actually found the hole with the Bengals for the AFC!!!! clangs and whoops
  • Even as of December 23rd, Cincinnati was still +800.
  • Finally found something I think was Draft Kings:  +6500 at the start of the season -- 65-1!!!
  • Action Rush, one of the few websites I found who had it, didn't even have Cincinnati in the top TEN of the 16 AFC teams bet for the conference championship.

  1. If KC is in it, I'm not watching.

    1. More likely you will be now -- though you may have Damon Arnette to thank for that one!

    2. That, and just how wonderful Andy Reid and Tyreek Hill are (the NFL probably doesn't like those two in the SB).

    3. Exactly. Tyreek Hill's problems cost them one deep run -- I won't say a SB or a title, but definitely a deep run. Andy and Britt Reid cost them a title last year, or at least any real discussion of having one. And, even though the Britt Reid situation was still over the league with his trial coming up in April, I do believe that arrest was a factor. (Though I did not, for the reasons Unknown purports to, when it happened. However, like Dallas, KC is almost certainly on Double Secret Probation with keeping their players out of trouble.)

    4. Mahomes may need to get out of there if he wants to get a ring (if he can someday).

    5. I think that would definitely be a league call myself. He goes someplace like Dallas when Prescott leaves and I think that's the perfect marriage as far as Goodell goes.
