- As with the Tokyo Games, no spectators will be allowed at the Beijing Winter Games. They just had their first Omicron case, so I can't think there's a great chance the Games (scheduled in three weeks) take place at all!!
- Union Pacific, in the light of the mass train robberies taking place, has threatened to leave Los Angeles. Said seriously: Go. Short of getting a White Right militia to start shooting looters with the force of law, you've lost most of the retail integrity in this country. There's also no reason for a lot of these people not to be looting at this point anyway.
- Mike Mayock is out as the GM of the Raiders... I think a league investigation is needed to clean the culture there, though. Might be time to get the Davis' out of the NFL once and for all, before the whole Las Vegas thing is a waste.
- Apparently, the objects thrown at the end of the Cowboys game from the fans were meant for the officials...
- ... and Dak Prescott has zero problem with that.
- In a move which might all but provoke a soccer war between FIFA/CONCACAF/etc. and the Mexican fans -- fans caught doing the homophobic chant which has permeated basically every Mexican soccer match in the region will be banned from attending any matches for five years. My only problem with this: I could very easily see the fans dare a five-year full-scale closed-door ban to continue to call the other teams... that.
The truth is not what actually happened. It's what you can ENFORCE happened. It's ALL enforcement.
