The Winter Olympic Virus: Day -12

• I guess I should start making these, shouldn't I, until I either am asked by readers to boycott these Games or the like...
• Much of the information, especially in a quiet/silenced pre-Olympic media period, is coming from the amalgation site from the UK, Inside the Games.
• Today is the day the three Olympic bubble villages are starting to accept athletes.
• Over 70 confirmed positive COVID tests have been confirmed in Olympic personnel in China in the 18 days just completed.  Just wait til the USA team shows up.  
• In stark contrast to Tokyo, a recent full rehearsal of the Opening Ceremony has indicated more than 4,000 participants in the Beijing Winter Ceremony.
• I do wonder if the funereal feel of the Tokyo Opening Ceremonies may end up not the death of the Olympic movement, but of the Olympic movement in the Western, democratic style of things...
