Day 286

  • The Heat are already out of the James Harden Sweepstakes because of his stunt.
  • The NBA is investigating.  Prepare for a suspension, moron -- and I hope it's a long one.
  • One of the Rockets (Ben McLemore) has tested positive for the virus, and two more have been sent home for contact tracing -- and more may follow.
  • Interesting moment in Boise yesterday.  As the University of Nevada was about to go into victory formation to win the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, the team doused their head coach with french fries AND Gatorade.
  • One problem:  The game was still in progress and the french fries spilled on the field about the 40 yard line on their sideline.  Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Nevada.  Yeah, yeah, probably lame-o, when you take everything into account, including the usage of the french fries in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.  That said, there was a problem to that...
  • Tigres of Mexico continued the CONCACAF Champions' League shutout of the MLS, beating LAFC with two late goals, 2-1, in the finals of this year's tournament.
  • Rajon Rondo may be in serious trouble -- video has surfaced which apparently has him shoving a woman during a dispute.
  • Josh Gordon's ban continues -- he has failed some prospect of his reinstatement terms with the NFL.  Why are we even fucking bothering with this guy?  The guy has been banned from the league FOUR TIMES for drugs (2019, 2018, 2015, 2014).  Throw him out and be done with it!
  • Dwayne Haskins has been stripped of his captaincy by the Washington Football Team and fined $40,000.  Now the question comes up as to whether he is either suspended or COVID-suspended for at least Week 16.
  • Did some math:  6-10 can win the NFC Least.  Washington loses twice.  Philly then loses to the Cowboys.  The Cowboys lose to the Giants.  The Giants lose to Baltimore.  The Giants win the three-way tiebreak on division record.
  • Japan has limited all new crowd gatherings and attendances to 5,000 through the winter holidays.  This means, for example, no more tickets can be sold to the two-night Tokyo Dome Wrestle Kingdom New Japan Pro Wrestling supercards.
  • And the first casualty of the 2020-2021 NBA season:  Rockets-Thunder is off, the Rockets do not have enough healthy non-tracing players to play tonight.
