Day 282

  • The NHL and it's Players Association have agreed in principle to a 56-game regular season this year.  Prepare for more July, etc. hockey!
  • Looks like about a January 1 start for training camp, so mid- to late-January start for games?  Early word is the NHL is shooting for the former -- about January 13th.
  • The plan still has to be approved by five Canadian provinces which host the NHL, for stronger restrictions.
  • A peppering of rescheduled college football games this week, in addition to the remaining conference title games today.  One of them ensures that the Minnesota-Wisconsin rivalry will continue unabated.  It very nearly became over a century worth of games, not interrupted by World War, but due to the virus instead!
  • Ohio State University has hundreds more sexual assault claims against a school doctor who is now claimed to have raped over 120 people and fondled over 2,000.
  • According to WDRB's Eric Crawford, 90% of the Louisville men's basketball program either has the virus or had it.
  • And according to a media call in Houston, their coach says the entire program got it at one point or another, and who knows when they'll play again.
  • It is unknown as to whether this means the Rose Bowl itself will be played this year, but the national semifinal of the CFP which was to be The Rose Bowl has been moved to the Jerry Palace in Arlington, TX, after the last pleas for at least families of players to be allowed to attend in California.
